The Largest food processing factory in Europe

TOMATES DEL GUADIANA SOOC. COOP, a leading company in processing finest-quality tomatoes and other fruits, has opened the extension of its new facilities in Medellín, Badajoz, which makes it the largest tomato processing factory in Europe.

Once again, the Extremaduran cooperative has counted on ARRAM Consultores as a strategic partner to improve its productivity, the energy efficiency of its facilities and the quality of its products, as well as to increase its production capacity.

To this end, the following equipments have been incorporated into the tomato concentrate production process:

-    1 new tomato unloading system designed to reduce energy consumption.

-    3 tomato sorting equipments.

-   1 three-effect evaporator with a no-load operating system, four stages of concentration and a concentration capacity of 2,200 tons per day of fresh tomatoes.

-    1 flash cooler that will help improve the quality of hot break products —the current pipe-in-pipe aseptic sterilisers will be used for cold-break food processing.

-    2 new aseptic fillers for semi-dense, concentrate and liquid packaging.

TOMATES DEL GUADIANA SOOC. COOP. has invested €8,000,000 in that project and the works have been completed in 7 months. Thus, its processing capacity will go from 6,000 tons per day to 8,200 tons per day, making it the largest tomato processing factory in Europe.
