Tomates del Guadiana, Soc. coop. hired Arram’s services for the complete design and project management of a plant for manufacturing tomato concentrate for later aseptic packaging.

TOMATO CONCENTRATE MANUFACTURING PLANT FOR SUBSEQUENT MANUFACTURING OF
  JUICES AND SAUCES WITH ASEPTIC PACKAGING.

This project included all the processing and unloading lines, plus one tomato concentrate line with a processing capacity of 1,500 t per day for a subsequent aseptic packaging, a wastewater treatment plant, collecting and treating water for the process, as well as all the utilities necessary for the functioning of the production lines (medium voltage, low voltage, vapour, compressed air, cooling process water, and so on).

EXTENSION OF A TOMATO CONCENTRATE MANUFACTURING PLANT. 

Following the success of the first campaign, Tomatoes del Guadiana decided to duplicate its production capacity – from 1,500 t to 3,000 t of fresh tomatoes per day – by extending its utilities.

JUICES AND FRUIT CONCENTRATE MANUFACTURING.

In 2004/05, Tomates del Guadiana made the investments necessary to equip its plant with a new line for manufacturing juices and fruit concentrate, as a consequence of an agreement with the main fruit and vegetable packaging stations in order to solve the serious problem that it means for them to obtain great quantities of sorted and industrial quality fruit.

LYCOPENE EXTRACTION AND LYCOPENE-ENRICHED VIRGIN OIL MANUFACTURING.

In 2011, Tomates del Guadiana realised a totally innovative project that consisted in an extraction process called fluid extraction which does not use organic solvents and is practically instantaneous.

The process allows to obtain lycopene-rich oils and high purity lycopene precipitate. Furthermore, since no organic solvents nor chemical agents are used, the extracted pulp is not a derivative, but a product with a high commercial value. The process has been patented worldwide by Fitopremios for this invention, and Tomates del Guadiana has the license of that invention..

- EXTENSION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE ENERGY PERFORMANCE OF THE MANUFACTURING
PROCESS OF TOMATO CONCENTRATE

This project is about an extension and improvement of the current process of tomato concentrate which consists in the incorporation of equipments that allow to improve the quality of the manufacturing of high brix tomato concentrate, the increase of the production capacity, the reduction of the consumptions and costs, and the manufacture of a new type of product.

For the implementation of that project, it was necessary to extend the washing and selecting line and the crushing infrastructure, to carry out the enzymatic inactivation and tomato refining, to get a pre-concentrator of six steps of descending film, a Flash Cooler-like sterilisation and chilling system, to extend the packaging capacity by installing a adding an aseptic filling machine of 12 t per hour and installing an extruding tomato line with a capacity to manufacture 12 of product per hour. 

In this project, actions were made to increase the energy efficiency which would mean a saving in gas and electricity consumption – 30 % and 12 %, respectively
