5 months ago in ARRAM Consultores SL we took a step forward in our commitment to innovation, opening our own R&D&i department.
During this period we have launched the implementation of our first research project in the agri-food sector: 4OVE (IDENTIFICATION OF IMPACT FACTORS IMPACTED ON THE PERFORMANCE AND QUALITY OF EVOO. ) and we have obtained UNE 166.002 certification (dedicated to supporting the optimisation of R&D&i management).
The main objective of the 4OVE project is to identify which factors and to what extent they influence the yield and quality of extra virgin olive oil, determining which processes and conditions associated with them have the greatest impact and which tools are used to establish optimised production strategies:
- From the control of olive ripening, determining the optimal harvesting moment by means of prediction models.
- Determining the traceability of the loss of quality of the fruit, from harvesting to the oil mill, identifying variations in the characterisation of the olive and EVOO. Comparing "ideal" laboratory results with real results in the oil mill.
- Optimising the production conditions in the oil mill.
- Finally, identifying the determining factors in the yield and quality of the final product.
With the collaboration of Greenfield Technologies and CTAEX - Centro Tecnológico Nacional Agroalimentario Extremadura (Extremadura National Agri-Food Technology Centre) 4 farms have been identified for which field data, crop health and fruit ripening analysis and control tasks are being carried out.
In the next phases of the project, in collaboration with the 4.0 OLIVAMENTE Oil Mill and Deuser, we will achieve the optimisation of production conditions and yields in the oil mill.
